not yet perfect

There is a lot of stuff we humans do, that we just do.  We don't really think about it.  It hardly helps us function.  It often gets in the way.  But we do it over and over. We do it mostly because at some time in our long genetic history it helped us adapt to a world that no longer exists.
We:
Eat too much
Get anxious over nothing
Get angry too fast
Repeat old behaviors
Let our hormones be our guide

on and on.

And if we get challenged about why we do it we can then think up a great rationalization.

That's what makes us "human" which is different from "humane."

Some "food for thought" here in your brief list of hard-wired behaviors. If your group killed an animal and didn't know when you would have the opportunity or luck to do it again, of course you would all sit down and gorge. If you didn't, the meat would spoil or other animals would steal it.

Having sense enough to be afraid would also help you survive. Remember the limerick:

There once was a lady from Niger,
Who smiled as she rode on a tiger,
They returned from the ride,
With the lady inside,
And the smile on the face of the tiger.
